Since Safari 5 started supporting extensions, I’ve been checking out some of them, and thought I’d post some of my favorites. All of the ones here can be found at the official extensions page.
Several of these have Firefox equivalents if you take a look around for them.
Facebook: There are a plethora of extensions to clean up Facebook. I like Facebook Cleaner.
Flickr: Instead of clicking through 2-3 different links to get to the original, this extension makes it much easier to get right to the largest version.
Google: One of the things I liked most about Google’s search results is that they are (were) nice and clean, with no clutter. Google seems to be moving away from that. Google Search Cleanup restores it.
Instapaper: Quickly send the current page (or a page linked from the current page) to Instapaper using InstapaperIt.
Gmail: Rapportive pulls information from the web and social media networks to give you information about people who send you email. TrueNew will show you not just how many unread messages are in your Inbox, but also how many are new since the last time you looked in your Inbox.
TinEye: If you often check images against the TinEye database, this is for you.
Twitter: If you’re still on #oldtwitter, Naked Twitter will clean up the homepage very nicely.
YouTube: I’ve been a big fan of quietube which removes a bunch of crap from YouTube pages. The problem is that once you load the YouTube page then you have to load another page. A Cleaner YouTube does the same thing, but does it right on YouTube itself.
