Adjust volume (or mute) even with the screensaver...
finermac points out that you can adjust the volume of your Mac even with the screensaver on, using the keyboard commands.
Which keyboard commands you use depend on the “recent-ness” of your Mac. Look on the function keys. You’ll get on-screen confirmation (even with the screensaver on).

Command+Shift+O gets you to the Documents folder. New in Snow Leopard. Of course the older keyboard shortcuts continue to work:
Command+Shift+C - Computer

Command+Shift+K - Network

About 13GB of data was accidentally deleted from my account on my Mac yesterday. Fortunately, due to an aggressive backup system, I was able to recover all of the files.
